A sliding-tile puzzle for iPhone, iPad, Mac & Apple Watch.
Tap Play and pick a board size, anywhere from 3 × 3 up to 10 × 10. Drag a tile toward the empty space to slide it in. If the tile shares a row or column with the gap, dragging it pushes the whole line of tiles along in a single move.
The goal is to put the numbers in order with the gap in the bottom-right corner, in as few moves as possible. Your move count appears on screen — fewer moves is better, and your best scores are submitted to the Game Center leaderboard.
Stuck? Tap Help during a game to see what the solved board looks like. You can play in portrait or landscape.
Play 3 × 3, 4 × 3 and 4 × 4 boards, plus 5 × 5 on 45 mm, 46 mm and Ultra models. Install X Puzzle on your watch from the Watch app on your iPhone.
Drag tiles with the mouse or trackpad, or use the arrow keys. Press Escape to pause or go back.
A playable 3 × 3 board right on your Home Screen, or 4 × 4 in the large size. To add it, touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget, then choose X Puzzle.
In a Messages conversation, tap + (look under More if you don't see it) and choose X Puzzle. Solve a board and send it — your friend gets the same shuffle and tries to beat your move count.
Play a quick game without installing the app.
Make sure you're signed in to Game Center on your device (Settings → Game Center). If you're signed in and scores still aren't appearing, your device may be offline — scores submit automatically once you reconnect.
Either way, your personal best for each board is always saved on your device, even without Game Center.
Achievements unlock automatically as you play. You can challenge friends to beat your scores from the Games app. Both require you to be signed in to Game Center.
Make sure you have X Puzzle 5.1 or later installed. Then, in a conversation, tap + and look under More.
Tap the Language button on the menu or during a game. Choose from 23 languages, or let X Puzzle follow your device's language.
The Tip Jar is an optional way to say thank you — it doesn't unlock anything. There are no ads and no locked content in X Puzzle. Tips aren't restored on your other devices, and payment is handled by Apple.
Recent versions of X Puzzle mix audio with whatever else is playing and respect the silent switch. If you're on an older version, please update from the App Store.
Try the usual remedies first: force-quit the app and relaunch, restart your device, and make sure iOS is up to date.
Leaderboard entries are managed by Apple's Game Center. You can hide or reset your scores in Settings → Game Center → Profile & Privacy.
No — X Puzzle is available only on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.
X Puzzle does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The only network activity is communication with Apple's Game Center (leaderboards, achievements and challenges) and, if you leave a tip, Apple's App Store payment. Both are handled by Apple under their own privacy policy.
iMessage games contain only the board and your move count, inside the message you send. The widget's game stays on your device.
